What Does Tim Young RN Chiro Do?

Simply put:

I have a musculoskeletal scope aimed at promoting general health by reducing pain and increasing function through both passive (manual therapy, massage, and mobilization mostly) and active interventions. The active interventions include rehab exercises (for core strength, injury repair and movement retraining), general exercise (for CV health, strength, and flexibility), stress management (often using exercise, encouragement, or referral), and nutritional advice (mostly around body mass index normalization and promoting a healthy gut microbiome/microbiota).

Diet and exercise are central maintaining health and significantly promotes health by reducing the risks of hypertension and cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and maintaining kidney function. If a patient has pain and dysfunction, they will not or can't exercise, increase their risk of developing or progressing CVD, diabetes and their sequelae. Chronic pain is also associated with reduced mental health (including depression and anxiety) and this is linked to smoking, excess alcohol consumption and drug use.

With respect to analgesic medications - I sometimes recommend short term over the counter analgesia for difficult to manage pain patients. However, for patients on multiple medications I refer to the GP for analgesia (e.g. anti-hypertensives and diuretics - triple whammy effect).
